As we reflect on the past month, I am filled with pride and excitement about all the wonderful accomplishments and joyous moments we’ve shared. It has been a remarkable period of growth, learning, and celebration here at Clyde Grammar.
Senior School
On Monday, all families were notified that we have now confirmed the commencement of a Senior School in 2027. This significant milestone in our school’s journey will allow us to provide a continuous and comprehensive education for our students from their early years through to their final years of schooling. We look forward to sharing this exciting journey with you, and seeing our current year 4 students become our first valedictorians in 2032.
Collaborative Learning Centre
We also announced the exciting news that our government grant for the Collaborative Learning Centre has been approved. Construction will commence later this year, marking a significant step forward in our commitment to providing an outstanding educational environment. This new facility will be a cornerstone for collaborative learning, fostering innovation and creativity among our students. It will also accommodate our first year 7 classes in 2027.
Save the Date
Please mark your calendars for our Annual Performing Arts Showcase, which will take place on Tuesday, 12 November. Due to our growing student population, we will be holding two sessions this year: one for parents of Foundation to Year 2 students and another for Years 3 and 4. Further details, including booking instructions, will be shared early next term. As usual, there will be a fundraising raffle at this event. If anyone in our community has something (non-perishable) that they would like to donate to the prize basket, please see Donna at reception.
Uniforms
Our uniform supplier, Belgravia Apparel, has informed us that the new and updated winter items are now available for purchase. These updates effect students from Year 3 onwards and can be purchased as you replace older items. Below is a summary of the new uniform items:
Girls in Year 4 now have the option to remove the bib (top section) from the winter tunic, allowing it to be worn as a skirt only. If they choose this option, the long navy tie must be worn.
Additionally, house-coloured sport polo shirts are currently in production and are expected to be available from the beginning of 2025. The original polo will be gradually phased out.
Sports News
The District Athletics Competition will take place on Wednesday, 4 September, at Casey Fields for selected students. Parents are welcome to join us as spectators.
We will be hosting a Mini Athletics Carnival for students in Foundation to Year 2 on the morning of Wednesday, 11 September. Parents are encouraged to come and cheer on the students. More details will be shared soon.
Car Park and Grounds
Thank you to all our parents for using the kiss-and-go parking spaces as intended. I’d like to remind everyone that the court area is not open before or after school, as this area is unsupervised during those times.
Olympics
Our focus on the Olympics has sparked enthusiasm and engagement across the entire school community. Students have not only delved into the history and significance of the Games but have also embraced the Olympic spirit through various activities. From creating country flags and learning about diverse cultures to participating in mini-Olympic events, our students have demonstrated outstanding teamwork, sportsmanship, and a genuine curiosity about the world around them.
Baby News
Congratulations to Ms Papettas and her partner, Warwick, who are expecting their first child. We can’t wait to meet their little bundle in January 2025, and we wish them all the best for their exciting journey.
Thank You
Thank you for being a part of our wonderful Clyde Grammar community.
As we move into the next exciting chapter of our school’s journey, I am confident that our students will continue to thrive in their academic and personal endeavors. I am incredibly proud of each and every one of them and grateful for the dedication and support of our teachers, staff, and parents.
Together, we are building a bright and promising future for our students.
